Now, for the last set of tutorials that Jiraiya-sensei has to offer us, a three-for-one deal! Well, more like these are all really short and more than slightly-interrelated lessons that I simply have to figure represent aspects of battle which are far less germane to the operation of your finely-tuned ninja machines than the rest of what he teaches you. I will confess that I don’t really practice any of this stuff that often, I’m more inclined to ignore or otherwise simply forget about them…in most fighting games (this one being no exception), I can’t even remember to use my throw regularly enough, let alone also find time to make hand signs or set bombs. There’s definitely a lot going on in this game, so it’s a good thing that Jiraiya is willing to point out that these things exist, at the very least…with just a little improvement to his delivery, he could indeed be a great teacher…of…video game tutorials…someday. Yay? This rash of sudden tutorial coverage brought to you in part by bestdudeever765, who happened to request the middle (and most substantial) of the remaining lessons in this segment: the Paper Bomb tutorial…and for generally giving me a good reason to stop being a useless layabout and go back to uploading stuff. — First up are hand signs, which you may notice only applies to one of the four control schemes, meaning if you actually play with the controller that was designed for the Wii, you have a tactical advantage…well, such that it is …

@Pityu96 Yes! It’s ridiculously more punishing than it should be to try to set up a bomb or a hand sign, since ANY action besides what they expect you to perform will make your character lose their cool and leave themselves completely open! Something like that in the midst of a real ninja fight is downright devastating!
So yeah, I’ve still not even come close to being able to do what this tutorial covers in a practical application sort of scenario. (We must all train hard to be splendid ninja!)
i can’t throw paper bombs becaus i push too many buttons >.<
@strategist9 It’s a real shame, since those are the kinds of things that *do* need some guided explanation, if only to teach and show you *how* to do some advanced moves.
I have to disagree that signs and bombs unusable in a fight, though you are correct that they’re exceedingly rare in live combat…the hard part is getting yourself to deploy a bomb or perform the hand sign fluidly so they feel like any other special move so they become no more punishable than most other moves. (I can’t yet.)
I always found it strange that they didn’t give tutorials for certain abilities (reflecting kunai or combo canceling), things that you would use in a fight, over things like this. I’ve never seen anyone do hand seals or aim paper bombs, aside from computers. You’re better off not doing it, really.
